Why I’m launching Disney and family travel consulting (and why I’m a consultant first, agent second)

If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know I’ve always prioritized real-world, honest advice over sales pitches. That’s why I’m excited to announce I’m now offering Disney and family travel consulting services. Yes, I can book your trip as a travel agent, but my main focus is making sure you get the best value for your family—whether that means saving money, time, or both. Consultant first, agent second

Here’s what sets my approach apart: I’m a consultant first, and an agent second. That means my advice isn’t influenced by commissions or supplier incentives.

This is particularly important with a Disney trip, because I’ve made my opinion pretty clear that while I’ve loved Disney for decades, I do not approach the company nor its parks with rose-colored glasses. I’ve worked with Disney on influencer campaigns and have even written a best-selling Disney World guidebook but am still willing to state the obvious: Disney World ticket prices have risen at nine times the rate of inflation over the past decade while what comes with the ticket has been stripped away.

When I was approached (more on that later) about “selling” Disney, I realized very quickly that I couldn’t be a traditional travel agent because there’s a lot at Disney that I wouldn’t spend money on and it would be contrary to my reputation as a straight-shooter, which I guard zealously. But after thinking about it I also realized that, while there is a ton of Disney information out there, there is a lack of no-nonsense guidance that respects both your money and your time.

While I listen to Disney podcasts for fun and can count my park visits in three digits, for most people a Disney vacation is a rite of passage, not a personality trait. That’s where I can help—I can share how to maximize the fun and minimize the hassle so you won’t need a PhD in Disneyana in order to enjoy your trip.

I’ll recommend what’s truly best for your family: even if that means staying offsite, booking a Disney Springs hotel, renting DVC points, or even visiting Disney World without a park ticket. None of those options are incentivized by Disney, which is exactly why I’m committed to putting your needs first. My job is to help you get the most out of your Disney experience, not to upsell you on packages you don’t need (looking at you, dining plan).

While Disney is a passion of mine, my expertise goes way beyond the parks. Over the last twenty years I’ve taken my own kids all over the globe for months at a time and along the way, I’ve learned a thing or two. Family travel can be much more complex than traveling pre-kids, from things like that hotel rooms aren’t always family friendly to having to navigate a school schedule. Add grandparents to the mix and the decisions become that much more complex.
